Furniture Making

 

I have built a complete house. I have built kitchens and bathroom benches and cabinets, and also designed and built large furniture such as dinning tables.

 

I enjoy making a diverse range of items. A particular interest is one-off or specialty items that are not generally available.

 

 

 

 

Furniture Restoration and Repairs

 

An item may be worn, marked, or the finish has deteriorated.

 

Cleaning and restoring can be very rewarding.Items may be broken or badly damaged and cannot be used. I enjoy the challenge of repairing or rebuilding items as close as possible to the original article.

 

There are times when something may be beyond repair, or a set is incomplete due to brakages or loss. In that case a replacement, or extras to match could be the answer. Ask me – usually it CAN be done.

 

 

Wood turning

 

Spindle work (wood turned between centres) is the source of much attractive furniture. These pieces are often works of art in their own right!

 

Bowls and Platters (face place turning) can make useful items that also often display the grain and colour of the wood. Many shapes and sizes can be made.

 

Worn or damaged pieces can also be restored.
